Water scarcity demands high-permeance desalination membranes that discriminate mono- and divalent ions with low hydraulic energy consumption. We fabricate a 2D composite membrane consisting of laminar graphene oxide interleaved with sub-nanometer covalent organic frameworks (COFs). The membrane exhibits a pure water permeance of 85 L m⁻² h⁻¹ bar⁻¹ and over 99.4% NaCl rejection under seawater osmotic conditions.
